Common questions

What patients actually ask.

Can I really wear them all day?

Aligners are worn 20–22 hours per day. You take them out to eat and to brush. Most patients adapt in about three days. Drinking water with them in is fine — coffee, tea, wine, and food require removal.

Will aligners affect my speech?

For the first few days, you may notice a slight lisp on S and SH sounds. It's gone within a week for almost everyone. Professional speakers (lawyers, teachers, broadcasters) should plan the first week around lower-stakes speaking.

What are the attachments and do they show?

Attachments are small tooth-colored composite bumps bonded to specific teeth to give the aligners leverage. They're visible close-up but are matched to tooth shade and are removed completely at the end of treatment.

What's IPR?

Interproximal reduction is a small amount (0.1–0.5mm) of enamel polished between specific teeth to create room for movement. It's safe, painless, and reversible over time. We only use IPR when alignment requires it — never for convenience.

What if I lose an aligner?

Wear the previous tray until we can replace it. Call us the same day — we can usually issue a replacement from the existing case series in 48 hours. One free replacement is included per comprehensive case.

Do I need a retainer forever?

Yes, and we mean it. Teeth drift. Nighttime retainer wear (usually just one arch after year 2) is the difference between your results staying put and needing re-treatment in five years.
