What the first visit is

The Precision Visit.

90 minutes with a single hygienist and one of our dentists. Nothing is delegated out to a rotating team. You leave with imaging you can keep, a clean mouth, and a written plan with real numbers.

  • Full-mouth digital radiographs (low-dose sensor)

Step-by-step

We design each handoff so nothing catches you off-guard. The first visit should feel like a good consultation — informed, unhurried, and honest about what's next.

Before you arrive

We email a secure intake link. Fill it out at home — history, medications, concerns, photos if you want. That lets us study your file before you walk in, so the 90 minutes is about your mouth, not clipboards.

First 15 minutes

Arrive, meet your hygienist, settle in. Coffee, tea, or sparkling water if you want it. Blanket, neck pillow, noise-cancelling headphones available — ask or don't.

Imaging & scan

Low-dose digital radiographs (bitewings + a full-mouth set), then a 90-second intraoral 3D scan. We'll walk you through both on the chairside monitor.

Exam with your dentist

30 unhurried minutes. We go tooth by tooth on the monitor together, screen for cancer and TMD, chart your gums, and answer every question. Nothing is rushed.

Cleaning (same-day, if healthy)

If your gums show no signs of active disease, your hygienist completes a prophylactic cleaning in the same visit. If you have inflammation or pocketing that calls for a deeper cleaning, we schedule it separately — and say so honestly.

Written plan, before you leave

Every recommendation, every price, sent to your email before you walk out. No pressure to decide today. Most patients take a day or two to review.

  • Dental insurance card (front + back photo is fine)
  • List of medications & supplements you take regularly
  • Any recent records or X-rays from a previous dentist (we can also request them with your consent)
  • A list of concerns, even the small ones — sensitivity, a crown that feels off, a habit you want to break

Pricing, plainly

$249 — Precision Visit

Flat fee for uninsured patients. Includes exam, full imaging, intraoral scan, and same-day cleaning if eligible. No hidden add-ons.

Have PPO insurance? We'll estimate your out-of-pocket before your appointment. Most patients pay $60-$140 for the Precision Visit after PPO benefits.

Members? Fully included in the Complete & Periodontal plans — your first appointment is $0 out-of-pocket.

If you're nervous

You aren't the first.

About one in three of our new patients tells us the dentist makes them anxious. That's why we built a separate Anxious Patients protocol — phone call before the visit, meet-and-greet before you sit in a chair, stop-signal agreement, comfort tools as default. Sedation is available when appropriate. Most patients don't need it on a first visit.

Common first-visit questions

Quick answers.

How long is the Precision Visit?

90 minutes. That's longer than most first visits because we're not splitting time across three rooms — you get your hygienist and dentist fully, without handoffs.

Do you take my PPO insurance?

We're out-of-network with every PPO plan, which means we're not bound by insurance-negotiated rates. For most PPOs, your reimbursement is the same whether you see an in-network or out-of-network dentist, and we file the claim for you.

Will I get a cleaning at the first visit?

Yes — if your gums are healthy. If you have active gum disease or haven't been to a dentist in 2+ years, we may recommend a deeper cleaning at a second visit. We'll tell you honestly at the chair, and the second visit is never a surprise charge.

Can I transfer my records from my last dentist?

Yes. With your signed consent, we request records directly. If you have recent X-rays, we may skip new ones to save you radiation and cost.

What if I haven't been to a dentist in 10+ years?

You're welcome. Genuinely. We see new patients after decades away from the chair regularly. No judgment, no lecturing — just an honest plan to get you back on track.

Can I bring my child?

We see children age 3 and up. We recommend booking their visit separately from yours so each of you gets full attention.
